of my artistic world
My creations are more than a mere amalgamation of mediums; they are portals into the realms of time, identity, and personal narrative, intricately woven with threads that connect us to land, language, spirit, and the whispers of our ancestors.
I believe in the power of art as a catalyst for change, conversation, and understanding. It is a form of expression and a dynamic force capable of shaping perceptions and fostering a deeper sense of community.

Concept: Surrealism final w/ Natasha Reid
Step into the mysterious realm of "Beyond the Gaze." Inspired by the German Romantic movement and surrealists like Dali and Magritte, this painting delves into the concept of Rückenfigur—the figure with its back turned. The dark, monochromatic figure, perched on an off-kilter ledge above the Grand Canyon, invites contemplation on space and time beyond the viewer's gaze. Vibrant burnt orange and yellow hues clash with dynamic shapes and intersecting lines, creating an existential discordance. Explore themes of isolation, wonder, and contemplation in this painting that emerged from a journey of letting go and self-expression.

Ephemeral Chronicles: Artist Book [About Nothing], 2023
2-ply toilet paper [jumbo] roll, rice paste, denim binding
Crafted from a humble toilet paper roll, "Ephemeral Chronicles" becomes a profound metaphor for life's fragility.
Amidst a sea of digital transience, this book is a tangible symbol of life's fleeting nature. Delicate 2-ply toilet paper challenges our notions of permanence, inviting contemplation on the impermanence of our own lives. By transforming the mundane into a realm of contemplation, "Ephemeral Chronicles" whispers of the beauty in the transient and the wisdom in embracing impermanence.

Linocut from AE307: Printmaking with Karen Hibbard
This lino print blends ancestral languages with modern discourse to explore gender, sexuality and identity.
The strawberry, evocative of a vulva, is a powerful symbol of the intricate link between land, body, and the sacred. By fusing tradition with modern viewpoints, this artwork prompts reflection on the profound intricacies of existence, inviting viewers to explore the hidden textures of the natural world.

Myco-Symphonies: The Imprint of Life, 2023
Mushroom spores, 290 GSM acid-free paper
This print, a testament to nature's artistry, was created using mushroom spores, resonating with the themes of impermanence, renewal, reflection, reciprocity, and life's journey.
As you study it, consider the impermanence of life, like the fleeting spores carried by the wind. Each mark signifies renewal, echoing the cycles of our own existence.
Just as mushrooms connect with the earth, we too are intertwined with our environment. This artwork invites you to reflect on your unique life journey, embracing the reciprocity of giving back to the world that sustains us.
Feel the profound connection between the natural world and your own, where every moment is a masterpiece of impermanence.
